I don’t think Max could have just run around the bus. In the last comic, both ends of the bus were blocked by fences.
All that fence-jumping earlier in the chapter would’ve come in handy again. xP
Damn it! I warned the file that the server was a bad influence! We all knew this would happen though. The server just looked so cool wearing his sunglasses indoors and smoking those semi-vegan cigarettes.
Is the girl behind that seat the same background character that saw Max get beat up by Johnny in the first chapter at school? Is she witnessing all of his bully moments?
But seriously, she’s still on the left side of the panel, which makes things kinda tricky, but look at the position of the seats. The “camera” as it were was facing the back of the bus in the previous strips. Now it’s facing the front of the bus, and you can see the kids up ahead turning to look back at what’s going on.

I just want to say that I really love how much variety you put into the corneas of the cast. Not often that you see all these different styles of eyes in one piece, and it works!
I could have sworn that Zack said in the comments to the last page that the spirit ends back up in that wispy form like the whale-frog and has to find another object/host.
According to Zack, if a Medium dies before the spirit in him fully regenerates, it appears again in its wispy form and must immediately possess something or someone in order to keep from dissipating.
Yup, he’s from Starchman’s class. The girl behind him is from Garcia’s class. It’s great that Zack brings back nameless background characters, isn’t it? :)
This has to be the best art I have ever seen in a comic, let alone a webcomic. You convey the tone of the comic perfectly with the style, and each color, each shadow, each line has something to say, has style and personality and means something. The writing is just as good if not better.
I caught up every page up to here in one night after being introduced by a friend and I find myself checking every day just in case you update. Amazing work.

He’s such a great character though. He’s chill about his powers, not overly excited about them, but not griping about it either. Also, best hat.

Yes, this. Ghosts can’t be mediums, since the spirit needs to hide in a physical body.
