Hey, question. Would you guys be interested in posters? I ask because posters are a very realistic first step into merchandise with my current funds and resources, and I think I could do some cool stuff with them. I am thinking something with most of Paranatural’s whole bloated cast on it, maybe with some power usage and spirits. Maybe something more abstract, I dunno. Lemme know what you guys think/what ideas you guys have, and thanks for reading! Supernormals/updated cast page coming soon.

Someone mentioned that Isaac’s principles of nonviolence which the Doorman mentioned might be the result of someone having died or fallen into a coma or otherwise been horribly dramafied on his watch. This offhanded reference by Mr. Splendiferous sounds like it could be a hint of that, perhaps…?
Or, yeah, maybe they graduated. In which case, maybe we’ll get to see someone come back from whatever school they were attending to help out as a sort of sixth ranger (if I’m using that TVTropes term correctly).

Naah, Mr. Splendor’s been doing this for a while and as this IS a school, students WILL graduate (if they survive… sane). Thus the PNC (ParaNatural Club) has likely gone through various membership permutations.
I agree, definitely could be the “flipped his nuggets” kid. That doesn’t mean anything horrible happened to him, but it could be that he couldn’t handle accepting his powers. Max didn’t want to accept it at first and tried to run away from it. Maybe this kid did the same.

I’m callin’ it. The kid that flipped his nuggets and is no longer there to make up the quad will be revealed to have moved on to high school. The tounge-in-cheek moment will occur when Issac introduces Max to him when they go through the KFC drive-through.
Could be the african-american child who is shown to be under attack on Isaac’s flashbacks.
I doubt the kid who “flipped his nuggets” was ever a part of the PAC. I mean, the kid did flip his nuggets after all, poor boy must be on a psych ward.
My guess would be someone whose tool spirit was finally able to re-embody. Deprived of a tool, that person might have decided to get out of the active spirit-pacification business. Of course, said person could have flipped his nuggets as a result.
That would be an interesting problem, being without a tool.
You would still see everything and be affected by them. Remember, non-spectrals don’t get curb stomped by whale frogs.
You’d presumably be able to fire off spec shots and put up shields like Isabel did with the bat spirit, but would be without a big gun.
Off course the big gun is contingent on picking the right tool/inhabiting spirit. Firing off spectral butterflies isn’t so useful.
The PAC also has a storeroom of tools, so the policy might be to only use the ones inhabited by a good or at least neutral spirit.
Problems like that make for a good RPG environment.
But can a spectral with an incompatible Spectral Energy Colour actually assess the spirit in a potential tool to try to divine whether it’s benign or not. It doesn’t even seem that they can detect tools unless they see the spirit enter it (Max’s bat was in a sports storage cupboard). If someone, like Max, comes along with an S.E. colour that they don’t already have represented, would the others even know what tools they have are least likely to possess and/or influence their spectral possessor?

Dimitri is a spectral (or a former spectral, in the sense that he is currently without a tool) and a secret member of the Paranatural Activity Club. He was put in the Journalism Club by Mr. Spender (or perhaps Mr. Walker?) to keep an eye on Suzy, who is a known hyperactive tween with a penchant for (joking about?) blowing people’s houses up, and who seems likely on becoming a spectral in the near future. This explains why he is (as the cast page puts it): “oddly disinterested in journalism”, and also account for the extra arm and head on the giant spirit in the fifth panel of this page: http://paranatural.net/chapter-3-page-5/. Note that they are black, and up that point (and even this point) Dimitri is the only named black character. Well- on this page http://paranatural.net/chapter-1-page-48/#comment-11164 someone made the point that Isabel is drawing a fifth member. It may just be me, but the corner visble of the person to the left of Mr. Spender looks kind of like Dimitri’s hair? But of course that could just be me over examining things!
When you came out with those planets for each chapter, I immediately thought they would be great as posters. Maybe add more detail, or put characters in the background or something, but I’d personally love to try and collect all the little planets, or just my favorites after my favorite chapters! :D

Define guidelines.

Okay, this is kind of late- and off topic with this- but are Isaac’s eyes that color because of his spirit (like how it shows through with his hair)? Or is that just a stylistic choice?

Not the eyes specifically, but the idea is Isaac gets his bright colors from his spirit as a physical side effect of being a medium. You’ll see his spirit in the next couple pages.

Maybe a medium’s spirit can impact the way they think, meaning that they would do things they otherwise aren’t willing to do.

I was looking through the earlier comment threads when I noticed people talking about spirit colors and factions and an argument someone brought up against it was that Sphinx and Doorman don’t seem like they’d be on the same side.
True enough, but they do have similar POWERS. Sphinx and Doorman both control passage from on place to another, though Sphinx is significantly less powerful. So maybe the types of spirits and by extension their powers, are color coded for our convience! I could be totally wrong on the connection between sphinx and doorman, especially since Isabel’s powers doesn’t seem to have anything to do with passage… But the theory of color coded spirits still stands!
The Sphinx of Games’ power is actually to make the rules of games played with him the rules of reality.

In my mind, before I correct myself, Issac is just constantly blushing over this entire situation.
I would think that there would be negative side effects to being host to a powerful spirit like Issac’s (if the wallpaper is anything to go by). Sure, draining extra energy you give off from the outside would be symbiotic, but once it’s inside you it becomes parasitic. Maybe the reason Spender doesn’t answer Issac’s questions is because he knows Issac may not like the answers he receives.

I think that a cool poster idea would be just like spirits and the town and stuff that looks totally normal to people who dont read the comic, but if you do read the comic you completely get everything
Oh my gosh, is that sketch on the bottom left in the vein of your special chapter illustrations? Because, if it’s not too bold of me to say, those are some spectacular designs! I think that would be a really neat poster! But really, whichever you choose will be incredible! (Also, ugh, Isaac and Max’s tiny friendship)
Posters with the comic’s “key moments”, like the “I AM THE WIND” or “Sometimes it’s… Hard to control…” scenes may add some variety to the full-cast, power-wielding posters. A typographical poster with Doorman’s lecture could be interesting, size issues aside.
Okay, so on page 1.53 Isabel says she last met a spectral 3 years ago, but on page 3.5 Isaac says he joined activity club 2 years ago. Does that mean Isaac didn’t join the activity club for a year?
It could be that Ed, Isabel and Isaac had already met, and already knew about each other’s spectral status, before the PAC was formally established.
Or racist towards mediums. Or she just forgot about Isaac…like everyone else.

I read well over a hundred (currently updating) webcomics. Yesterday I started reading this one. It is now my favourite.
Hey I wonder how many of us over-a-hundreders there are.
96 comics, but some of them take a long, long time to update.
I’m practically trembling with anticipation for the next update. I’m sure that sleep is optional, anyway.
For me personally, I already have too many posters and not enough space for them. Same thing with T-shirts and stuffed animals. Typically I buy books, magnets, and pins. But mostly books. Also I can be convinced to buy a T-shirt but only if it meets very exacting standards.
I am going to buy a book when you publish one is what I am saying.
